Robbins-Gioia Announces Organizational Changes to Align Company with Opportunities
April 23, 2008, Alexandria, VA—In his first major organizational move since taking office in August 2006, Robbins-Gioia CEO John Marselle announced the realignment of responsibilities and promotions of several R-G executives that will ultimately position the company for greater growth. “We conducted a comprehensive study of our business and markets—and based on our findings, we are refreshing our market focus and business model to better meet the demand we are seeing,” said Marselle. “Our realignment takes full advantage of the extraordinary experience, range of professional skills, and collaboration already in place across the company, which speaks to the innovation happening here at Robbins-Gioia.”
The promotions include the following:
- Pierre Monacelli has been promoted to president, defense and intelligence division. In his new role, Monacelli provides management consulting to clients in the defense and intelligence communities to help them achieve their goals in the areas of supply chain management and integration and interoperability across agencies. Monacelli most recently served as Robbins-Gioia’s senior vice president, program management leadership (PML). He has more than 21 years of experience in on-site business engagements and program management disciplines involving the implementation of processes, support mechanisms, and mentoring to enable organizations to proactively track, manage, and communicate performance effectively. These engagements have included large-scale IT programs, business remediation initiatives, and modernization programs in the commercial and government sectors.
- Herb Strauss has been promoted to chief strategy and marketing officer. He leads the marketing, performance, and practice development group and is responsible for strategies supporting the firm’s global business operations and its expansion into new markets. Strauss directs Robbins-Gioia’s solutions, corporate branding, web properties, knowledge management, relationship marketing, advertising, media relations, public affairs, market research, online marketing, thought leadership, internal communications, and corporate philanthropy. He is also responsible for creating and leveraging integrated marketing programs with the firm’s corporate parent—Informa Plc (LSE: INF) and its affiliates. Strauss has more than 30 years of diverse public and private sector experience, joining Robbins-Gioia in 2008 from the technology research and advisory firm Gartner Inc., where he was vice president and principal national security analyst.
- Joe Dawson has been promoted to executive vice president, government sales. In this newly created role, Dawson is responsible for leveraging R-G’s brand and solutions to sell new business for the civil and defense and intelligence divisions. To foster collaboration and sharing of best practices, business development personnel from lead generation, proposals, and the government side of the technical solutions and workforce performance groups are now part of government sales. This integration also provides solid career paths for current and future personnel.
- Darci Allen has been promoted to director of corporate proposals and will provide centralized proposal support. This centralization will allow Robbins-Gioia to maximize and align proposal efforts across divisions.
- Jon Hughes has been promoted to the position of vice president, technical solutions group, reporting directly to Robbins-Gioia President and COO Mike Sledge. “The success of Jon and his team has been integral to the growth of Robbins-Gioia and this alignment with the executive team will support the acceleration our technology offerings,” said Marselle.
- David Colby has been promoted to executive director, information management office group. In addition to continuing his management of R-G’s technology, he will now also be responsible for internal application development. Consolidated leadership for internal business systems is crucial for aligning and automating processes across the company.
“These changes are very positive for Robbins-Gioia,” said Marselle. “I look forward to great advances and expansion for our company’s business and markets.”
